In this 8-week class, learners will explore a different Nascar race track each week. They will learn about the history, unique features, and key moments associated with each track, along with how the track’s design impacts racing strategies. Each class will focus on one specific track, such as Daytona, Talladega, or Bristol, and cover topics such as: Track layout and design Historical significance and famous races Key drivers associated with the track Racing strategies and challenges Each class will last 1 hour and follow a consistent structure: Introduction (5-10 minutes): Brief overview of the track of the week, including background and history. Main Lesson (30-40 minutes): Detailed exploration of the track, including key features, famous moments, and how the track affects racing strategies. Interactive Discussion (10-15 minutes): Engage with the learners by asking questions, discussing what they’ve learned, and encouraging them to share their thoughts. Wrap-Up & Quiz/Game (5 minutes): A quick quiz or game to review key points from the class, ensuring retention and understanding. I will use a mix of teaching methods to keep the class engaging and interactive: Visual Aids: Slides with pictures, diagrams, and race footage will help illustrate the track layouts, history, and racing strategies. Videos/Clips: Short video clips showing races or significant moments on the featured tracks. Discussions: I will encourage learners to ask questions, share their thoughts, and discuss what makes each track unique. Games: Fun trivia or short quizzes at the end of each class to review what they’ve learned. My teaching style is interactive and engaging, aimed at making the learning experience enjoyable and accessible: Engaging and Interactive: I encourage learners to actively participate by asking questions and sharing their insights. Clear and Focused: Each class will have a clear structure, ensuring that we cover key concepts without overwhelming learners. Enthusiastic and Supportive: I’ll bring passion for Nascar to the class, making sure learners feel comfortable and excited to learn. Interaction will be a key element of the class: Lecture: A brief but informative lecture to introduce the track and its history. Games: I’ll incorporate games and quizzes to make learning fun and interactive, encouraging learners to recall key details about the track. Slides: A slideshow will be used to guide the lesson, with visuals of the tracks, race footage, and other relevant material. Discussion: There will be time for open discussion, where learners can ask questions, comment on interesting facts, and share their favorite tracks or races. Interactive Q&A: At the end of the class, learners can participate in a Q&A session where I will address any lingering questions or dive deeper into topics of interest.
