Topics Covered: Phonics fundamentals: Your child will learn how to recognize and blend letter sounds, including consonants, vowels, and word families (eg, -at, -it) Sight words: We'll practice key high frequency words that are critical for early reading Blends and Digraphs: Students will be introduced to common blends and digraphs so strengthen their word decoding skills Short and long vowel sounds: Understanding the difference between short and long vowel sounds Reading fluency: Practice reading short passages and stories to develop smoother, more confident reading skills Sentence building and story creation:Students will apply their new skills by constructing simple sentences and eventually writing their own short stories Class structure: 24 short lessons for 25 minutes perfect for maintaining focus and engagement Interactive Activities: every class includes hand-on activities like word-building games, reading aloud, and phonics exercises that make learning fun Small group environment-classes are limited to a small group to ensure each child gets personalized attention and support Consistent practice-Lessons are designed to build upon previous learning, reinforcing key reading skills while introducing new concepts at a gradual pace *this class is perfect for beginning or early readers who need a nurturing environment to grow their skills. Hello Friends,
My name is Ivonne Lopez but you can call me Mrs. Lopez! I am super excited to be a part of Outschool! I am very excited to get to meet you, teach you and get to know you!
I live in Lubbock, Texas with my husband and four daughters. I was born in Mexico and my first language is Spanish and I am very happy that I still get to practice and use this beautiful language in my everyday life with my family and even with my daughters!
I have a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and I am certified to be able to teach bilingual classes in the schools. I have taught in the public schools and online platform for over 6 years now and have been able to improve my skills in teaching by getting to interact and teach kids from 3-15 years old!
I have regained my love for reading through being a homeschool mom and getting the opportunity to read beautiful stories to my children. I truly believe that reading gives you the opportunity to travel to other worlds and become a part of that world even if it just for that little while. Reading has given me so many opportunities to share with others as well that have a passion for reading and discover different genres too!
I have taught students how to read, how to hold a book, letters, letter recognition, numbers, number recognition, colors, shapes, rhyming, reading comprehension, writing in a journal, learning how to speak in complete sentences and so much more!!
But most importantly at the end of all this I have seen students regain their confidence and their love for learning through reading!
Teaching is my passion! Reading is my passion! Education and learning is just a big part of my life and I love that I get to instill the love of lifelong learning to others!!
I enjoy encouraging students to learn and have a passion for learning! Learning is all around us and we can learn something new every single day!
