Finally, I will guide the students through a fun and interactive dialogue while we analyze the poem’s rhythm, meter, plot, geographical and historical setting, themes, imagery, symbolism, irony, allusion,...
- This class aims to gain a thorough understanding of the poem during an engaging and pleasant group dialogue.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. My teaching experience has focused on coaching learners between the ages of 14 and 23 in multiple topics, including English writing, reading, and literature analysis. Edgar Allan Poe is one of my favorite authors. I am deeply intrigued by his stories, which center around fear, mystery, grief, and questioning the significance of life and the possibility of life after death. My capstone paper was based on Poe’s subtle use of comedy in his tales.
Students should read the poem prior to class.
Students must possess a copy of the poem so that they can reference lines as we cover them during class. They should also have a notebook and pen to take notes.
This poem may be frightening for some learners.
