Tarea
1-2 horas por semana. Learners will be offered an optional homework assignment after every meeting. After completing the assignment, learners can check their work on the class page and view video explanations of any answers they got wrong. As the homework is self-directed, learners who opt-in for assessments and grading will be assumed to be completing all homework and will be graded at 100% in the individual gradebook.
Evaluación
Assessments will be offered every three to four weeks depending on the content. During the first few weeks of the class parents who will have the ability to opt-in for assessments and grades, and must make the decision before the first test. Parents can always opt-out of assessments and grades if they find it is the wrong choice for their learner. No one may opt-in for assessments and grades after the date of the first assessment. Please note: All parents will be sent every assessment to use at their convenience no matter what assessment option they choose.
Calificación
Grades are provided at the request of the parents. If a parent chooses to opt-in for assessments and grades, they will have access to an individual gradebook throughout the course. The gradebook will track homework, quizzes, tests, and the cumulative exam. If the parent chooses not to opt-in, they are welcome to track student progress however they choose. The interactive notebook is designed to serve as a portfolio to demonstrate student progress and academic growth should a family not opt-in for assessments and grades. Certificates of course completion will be awarded to each learner. Certificates will be signed by the instructor and include his Florida Department of Education certificate number. Certificates of learners who opt-in for assessments and grades will include the final grade and will be accompanied by a PDF of the learner's individual gradebook as well as a list of the standards covered, all presented in a format suitable for examination by homeschool evaluators. All grades are recorded as both a percent and a letter grade.
