La vida y el impacto de Martin Luther King Jr.

Come and join us as we learn all about the life of Martin Luther King Jr. and his impact on the world. We will start with his childhood in Atlanta, Georgia, and walk through his education and inspiration to go into theological studies. We will learn about his wife, Coretta Scott, and his move to the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. We will learn about Rosa Parks and how he was chosen to lead the Montgomery Bus Boycott, launching the civil rights movement into national attention. We will also examine the Letters From a Birmingham Jail, as well as many of his speeches, and discuss the impact that he had. We will talk about his untimely death and how his legacy has led others to follow in his footsteps. 

This class will be taught through recorded lectures and may also include supplemental videos (Youtube), readings, worksheets, and activities (recipes, movies, dioramas, experiments, etc.). Please see the syllabus below for a layout of the lessons included in this course. 


This class is presented in an asynchronous format. If you are taking this class through the Class Subscriptions, there will be no communication between learner and myself. If you are taking this class through the Self-Paced format, you will have 1 year to complete the lessons. If you choose to submit homework or communicate (questions on the classroom page), I will respond within 24 hours (excluding Sundays).
