I would love it if each student could complete a quick two-minute presentation on capital punishment during week 4 (more information will be provided during week one) this is optional. The project could be longer depending on the number of students enrolled. This eight-week course will introduce students to "The History of Capital Punishment" with an emphasis on developments in the United States. The first established death penalty laws date as far back as the eighteenth-century b.c. in the Code of King Hammurabi of Babylon; students will learn the history, constitutional regulations, distinguished supreme court cases, death penalty limitations, as well as international views and current issues. Topics each week will be as follows (this schedule is tentative): Day 1: The History of Capital Punishment & Early Death Penalty Laws Day 2: The Death Penalty in America (Colonial Times & Nineteenth Century) Day 3: The Death Penalty in America (Early & Mid-Twentieth Century) Day 4: Class Presentations and Constitutional Regulations Day 5: Distinguished Supreme Court Cases Day 6: Reinstating the Death Penalty and Limitations Day 7: Federal Death Penalty & International Views Day 8: Current Issues & Topics I look forward to teaching your students about the history of capital punishment.

I hold a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and cybersecurity with an emphasis in forensic science studies from the University of Maryland Global Campus; graduating with summa cum laude honors.
