Meow you doing? In this one-time meet-up, students will talk about their cat (real, fictional, or stuffed) and introduce them to their peers through a photo, drawing, or the cat themselves (real or stuffed). After introductions, we will learn about the basic needs of cats through a fun PowerPoint. This will also cover some big questions like...Why do cats like to cram into tiny spaces? We will learn some cool cat facts, watch a short video and play a game or two together. Throughout the lesson, students will get an opportunity to share stories or questions about cats as time allows.
Metas de aprendizaje

'Meraki' (a term used by the Greeks) is when you do something with your soul, creativity, and love. It is my mission to act with Meraki daily and to encourage learners to do the same.
Hi, my name is Olivia, but you can call me Teacher Liv, or Liv. I am passionate about teaching holistically so that students develop socially, emotionally, and academically. I believe that it is easy for students to get drawn into the magic of fairy tales or make-believe but it takes a little more effort to introduce them to the magic in the world around them. And there is so much magic in the world around us!
In my classroom, we will venture into the depths of English, learning how to go from 'story writing' to adventure telling. We will observe nature and discover the secrets behind the eyes of elephants. We will communicate complex messages and feelings without saying any words at all.
(My favourite teaching areas include: English, Science, and Visual Arts).
In my lessons, students will be encouraged to be curious, to laugh, to lead the way, to be proud of themselves and their learning, and to learn at their own pace. Most importantly, to discover the 'magic' hidden in plain sight in the world around us.
I have been an educator for the past 9 years, teaching and learning from children aged 10 months to 12 years old. I have my Bachelor of Education with a specialization in Montessori Education and in 2022 I gained my TESOL diploma.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, being out in nature, traveling, photography, and arts and crafts. So far I have lived in South Africa, New Zealand, and Canada. I love exploring new places and learning about other cultures, languages, and traditions.
