In this 40 minute class students will get a short introduction to the fundamentals of acting by working on a monologue. Learners will receive several sample monologues upon enrollment and are encouraged to choose their monologues in advance of our first meeting. If none of the sample monologues are to the learner's liking, please reach out directly for other options. Together, we'll explore an organized approach to analyzing, rehearsing, and performing dramatic material. Students will learn how to break their monologues down into beats, how to memorize them effectively, will gain insight into the Stanislavsky method and will learn how to use their own personal experiences to bring the emotional world of the character to life.

I have experience working (and living) with adults and young people who are Dyslexic and on the Autism Spectrum. My process can be adapted to address the student's unique learning and sensory needs.

I do my best to tailor each of my sessions to the needs and interests of my students. Since this is a class geared towards high schoolers, themes like dating, crushes, homework woes and emerging independence can be found throughout the work that we do.
