Experiencia de clase

Students will participate in a fun discussion about what they are thankful for while making handprint turkeys and sharing their artwork.

Students will trace their hands to create a turkey. Younger students may need a little assistance with tracing their hands. Students will color their turkeys and glue on decorative feathers while talking about what they are thankful for. If students need more time to finish the project they are welcome to finish later and post a picture of it in the classroom so we can see it.

Discussion questions may include:
What is a food you are thankful for?
What is a toy you are thankful for?
What is something in the room you are in that you are thankful for?
Who are some of the people you are thankful for?
What else are you thankful for?

This class is inclusive, which means that students of all abilities are welcome. If your student needs any accommodations please let me know and we will work together to ensure they have the best class experience possible.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
My name is Gabrielle, I started teaching sewing lessons when I was a homeschool senior. I taught classes at a local home school group and discovered I had a passion for teaching. When I was 19 I discovered I was most likely autistic and was able to get an official diagnosis at 21. For me, this was a revelation and explained so much. It meant I was able to seek out others like me and was a huge game-changer for me.

For over 10 years now I have been teaching in different capacities and working with children with different disabilities and differences. I have been an in-home caregiver for a physically disabled child, a preschool teacher, a teacher's aid, a tutor and have been teaching online since January 2020. I also have an Associates' degree in special education.

I am proud to be autistic. This doesn't mean I don't have struggles but I firmly believe that we all have strengths and weaknesses. I strive to give all of my students a safe and welcoming place. All of my classes are inclusive which means students of all abilities are welcome. If your student needs any accommodations please let me know and we will work together to ensure the best possible class experience.
