Welcome to Teacher Mel's Math Club: Let's Practice Multiplication and Division

In this class, students will learn just how much fun math can be. Students will be able to learn new tips and tricks, and get lots of practice, while playing fun and interactive math games. Students will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week. During Tuesday's lesson we'll review a new math concept and practice a few sample problems. On Thursdays, we'll play a fun game where students will get to put their skills to the test in a competitive and supportive environment.

Students will be encouraged to be active participants in each class. The use of calculators will not be permitted in order to keep the competition fair. Students are welcome to join class at any time. If students are joining on any week other than week 1, students should already have some familiarity with the previously covered topics. • During the week of February 23rd students will play a fun word game to practice multiplication and division facts.

• During the week of March 2nd students will play a fraction scavenger hunt while they practice making equivalent fractions using multiplication and division.

• During the week of March 9th students will play a detective style game while solving division questions.

• During the week of March 16th students will practice multi-digit multiplication and long division in a fun escape room themed activity. 

Subsequent topics and games will be student directed.
