Did you know that when we're stressed, our brain has a more difficult time retaining information? It's true - which is why we hear all the time that we need to find strategies for self-care so we don't burn out. However, did you know that there are strategies that we can use when we're studying that will help prevent us from burning out in the first place? These strategies are called executive functioning strategies, and in this course we will do a deeper dive into two specific kinds of executive functioning strategies: time management and self-monitoring/self-regulation. In this course, we will dive into several time management strategies and how to become more aware of how we manage our time and commitments. In each lesson, I will post a video and post a question in the classroom for discussion. The more your student discusses the more they will get out of the content, however discussion is not required! Depending on the week's lesson, there may also be a handout for students to reference after the course. This class is designed for middle and high school learners, and would be a great class for students with learning challenges such as autism, ADHD/ADD, SLD, and/or dyslexia. Please note that lessons are pre-recorded and no live instruction will be provided. I will be available Monday-Friday for the duration of this course to answer any questions that may come up and I will respond to your message within one business day.
