In this Minecraft Java class we get collaborative and competitive. Whether you like building, making efficient farms for resource generation, or prefer combat/PvP (player vs. player) and redstone defenses, you will find a role fit just for you in our class. This survival experience will teach students about resource management, group communication and decision making, and has games to incentivize their ability to think quickly and solve problems on the go. As the course goes on, the group will build a functional and self-sustaining town in the immersive world of Minecraft. My goal is to help students socialize and make friends, while also honing their skills in the game so they can either collaborate or compete well on a survival multi-player server. Whether it’s by learning tips on how to improve PvP, tackling tricky redstone contraptions to become the richest producer, or just becoming a great architect whose builds bring life to the server, I’m here to help you shine. I’ll bring in all the fun team-based and solo games I know to provide an engaging atmosphere to socialize. NOTE ABOUT MINECRAFT: There are two versions of Minecraft that run on different code: Java (PC, Mac, Linux) and Bedrock. This class uses Java and can only be played on the computer (Mac and Windows). This is NOT a Minecraft Bedrock class, meaning anything off of the computer will not work. If your computer has Windows, make sure you are running Java and not the Windows version. To check, when you open Minecraft and it says Java Edition under the title, that is the correct one. If it’s not there, then you’re running Minecraft for Windows.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Led by a 5-year Outschool veteran with top-rated reviews, my immersive camps and classes offer structured, creative play in a safe and inspiring space.
I am a teacher who combines my love of video games and fictional stories with subjects like personal development, history, psychology, and anthropology, and story-telling. I want to stimulate learning within the environments students find themselves most engaged, whether they be in virtual worlds or ones in their imagination!
I have 10 years of teaching experience, half with older English-language learners and the other with children ages 7-15. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and use this degree to help students reflect on others' perspectives. My philosophy of teaching ensures students hit every spot in the learning cycle. When my students grapple with new concepts, they will reflect on the connections these concepts have to their personal lives, and actively experiment with them in activities that rely on teamwork, problem solving, and promote creativity. Creativity is my bread and butter. It is my personal wish to have every student ignite their love of learning by creating something they can proudly show off to parents and friends.
Besides being a fan of video games like World of Warcraft, Elder Scrolls, and Zelda, I love movies, reading, hiking with my dog, practicing my light-saber wielding, and dancing to electronic music. I have lived abroad and traveled to over 10 countries, and enjoy studying other cultures and ways of living.
