First grade is one of the most important years, were student learn many meaningful skills that will impact the rest of their academic careers. Reinforcement in areas of struggle is important to ensure their success. In this engaging classes, your kid will have the opportunity to practice important topics, while having fun, and loving learning!

Using the I do, You do, We do Approach, the student will have the opportunity to practice first grade skills. The teacher will encourage participation by asking prompting questions and will complete the lesson with an assessment game.

Each class will follow the format:
- Presentation of skill (why is it important)
-Examples and supports
-Independent practice

The topics/skills that will be discussed per week are as follows:

Week of June 12th - Short and Long Vowels
Week of June 19th - Beginning, Middle and Ending Sounds
Week of June 26th - Consonant Blends
Week of July 3rd - R-Controlled Vowels
Week of July 10th - Consonant Diagraphs
Week of July 17th - Reading Sight Words
