Experiencia de clase

Enter the world of Shakespeare! In this camp, learners will learn about the Bard while putting on their own production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. I am an experienced elementary school educator and youth theatre director who loves involving children in dramatic experiences.

Day 1 - Welcome to Shakespeare:
On the first day of camp, learners will learn about Shakespeare's life and his importance as a playwright. They will also get to know each other through dramatic games and exercises, and read through the camp script for the first time.

Day 2 - Enter the Story:
On the second day of camp, learners will receive their roles in the camp production and hold their first rehearsals. They will also learn about what theatre was like in the Elizabethan Age.

Day 3 - Theatrical Conventions:
On the third day of camp, learners will continue their rehearsals, focusing on character and voice. They will also explore the language of Shakespeare's works and his contributions to the dictionary we access today.

Day 4 - Putting it All Together
On the fourth day of camp, learners will hold their last rehearsals for the camp production and gather costumes and props from around their houses that they can use during the performance. They will also explore the costumes and props that would have been used during Elizabethan productions.

Day 5 - Performance Time:
On the fifth day of camp, learners will take part in exercises designed to calm any pre-show jitters and then put on the production. They will receive certificates designed to recognize the unique contributions they brought to the world of the Bard.
