In this nine-week book club, learners will complete their reading outside of class and come to class ready to have fun starting the very first week! ***Please come to class ready to discuss the book of the week*** We will discuss reading comprehension questions, learn about the story elements, discuss vocabulary words, learn literary terms, play a game, do an activity, or learn something fun about each book. If we have any additional time after our discussion and game we will be drawing pictures of our favorite parts of the story. Be sure your learner has access to paper and pencil or other writing instruments for our class. Although we will be reading only the Best of A to Z Mysteries, your learners can join in at any time during this class without feeling like they are missing something.

The Letter A: The Absent Author
When Dink's favorite mystery writer Wallis Wallace, turns up missing, he and Josh and Ruth Rose get on the case. They uncover more than they bargained for! The Letter D: The Deadly Dungeon
Strange noises and green feathers are clues, but where do they lead Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose? To a castle's dungeon, that's where! We will go over our vocabulary words, and answer some reading comprehension questions. We will discuss castles and their different parts. Why are people checking out of the Shangri-la Hotel on the most popular week of the year? Could it have anything to do with the ghost that rides the elevator? A strange new boy appears at Dink's school. Dink brings him home to stay. All is well until the boy disappears. Thousands of miles away, the boy's father has also vanished!
