In this multi-day summer drawing camp, students learn to sketch realistic horse faces, hair, and full body horse drawings. Perfect for horse lovers and artists wanting to improve their horse drawing skills, but are not sure where to start. In this class, students will spend four out of the six class sessions drawing several "practice" sketches that are not intended to be finished drawings. These class sessions are intended for experimenting with new techniques and helping students rapidly grow their horse drawing skills, without the pressure of completing a "finished" piece of art. Students will fill several sketchbook pages with "practice" drawings. Students are welcome to use pencils, colored pencils, markers, or even pens on these days. Students are also welcome to bring their own horse figures/reference photos to draw from. I will have references provided for students, but want students to know they have creative freedom in this class. Two of the six class sessions will be spent drawing more "finished" art. In each of the two sessions, students will focus on one drawing, and will have two ''finished" drawings by the last day of class. These drawings will be much more detailed than the "practice" sketches and will showcase the skills students have learned in this class. For the last day of class, students are welcome to choose their own horse reference photo to draw. I will have a reference photo provided on the last day of class that I will draw from. Students are welcome to use the same reference as me, or choose their own.

Art Teacher 🎨 / Middle Grade Fantasy Author 📚/ Children's Book Illustrator 🐉
✨Welcome to my teacher page! ✨
After graduating with Bachelor's Degrees in Elementary and Early Childhood Education, I decided to make the leap of starting my author and illustrator career. Since then, I have written and illustrated my first middle grade fantasy book, Brush of Magic, with many more in the works!
Along with running my own art and book shop, I design and teach a variety of drawing and painting classes, ranging from realistic sketching, watercolor painting, fantasy drawing, and illustration. I have taught for about 9 years, 4 of which have been specific to art. I love the time I get to spend with my students, creating art, and chatting about books—especially if the books and art are whimsical or magical!
All the artwork, books, and stationary designs in my shop are created by me. I often find inspiration for my art and books through reading, spending time with my cats and dogs, and brainstorming imaginary creatures in my sketchbook.
Thank you for stopping by! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. I am always happy to help.😊
