Técnicas de estudio y apoyo con las tareas

This 45 minute session is tailored to your child's unique study goals and homework requirements. It is designed to give your learner support in the areas they need assistance with. 

Each session will include looking over your child's planner to figure out what homework and study needs to be completed and when. We will then work together to create a schedule that they can stick to for the week.

We will discuss any homework they have made a start on and can work through anything they aren't sure of. Together we can proofread and refine their work, explore different options for finding information and develop research skills. 

We will break down any projects they have to complete into manageable chunks so they can get started on work straight away. Drilling into their knowledge, we will problem solve the tasks, map ideas and make a plan for our next session. 

The session will be interactive and directly related to developing your child's skills so the strategies used will vary from student to student, and session to session. Your learner will always have input and share their ideas as discussion will form an important part of our sessions. We will use the homework materials provided by your child's school, as well as a combination of programs from the Google suite. Where specific skills are taught to meet your child's needs, for example time management, I will use teacher developed materials such as slides to complement the learning.

*Scheduling the right amount of time for the projects and homework you have
*A deep dive into your school project
*Habits for study success
*Time management
*How to proof read your assignments and refine your work
*Tackling new learning topics- specific homework help 
*Mind mapping techniques
*Developing strong topic sentences and paragraphing skills
*Knowledge building tailored to specific projects
*Research skills- how to find information and analyse it

As a teacher, I am responsive to student needs and plan sessions that move learning along. I find out student interests and what their goals are and use these to make my sessions interesting and informative. I always try to inject a bit of humour or fun into our classes. Where appropriate, I utilise games or brain breaks to keep my students engaged. Where slides and more explicit teaching is required, I will balance this with student input so they are actively involved in learning. In this class, your learner and I will co-construct plans, problem solve and implement strategies to help them be successful in their studies.
