Experiencia de clase

This workshop presents five short sequences where we will stretch, breathe and move together.  Each sequence is an average of 5 - 8 minutes long and has a specific focus and targeted body area.  Stretches are easy to follow and can be done standing near the desk.  (No exercise mat is needed).  These are designed to flow easily into your day at the desk.  Video files of each exercise sequence will be uploaded to the classroom for ongoing use by students.  Over the course of the five exercise sequences, the full body will be stretched using all planes of movement.  Exercises are chosen to realign and help balance the postures often used at the desk or when texting on the phone. These are great conditioning exercises for singers as well they will benefit anyone working long hours at a desk or spending lots of time on electronic devices.

Students will learn and practice 5 different short stretch sequences designed to re-align posture, release tension, energize the body and focus the mind.  Students are encouraged to practice these sequences throughout their day of learning at the desk.

I teach posture and alignment as a singing teacher and pilates teacher.  I have a passion for finding efficiency in muscle function, be it a pilates or vocal exercise.  My background is in the performing arts (singing and dance) and the healing arts (NYS licensed massage therapist, comprehensive certification Pilates teacher, certified yoga teacher).  This course takes material from pilates, yoga, dance, sport massage, and polarity therapy and is presented in short simple easy to follow stretch sequences designed to release tension as we stretch, breathe and move together.
