KAPOW! BOOM! And welcome! This is a short and exciting class all about comic books and how to create your own! Students will learn "storyboarding", "staging", "thumb nailing", and everything important when it comes to creating comics. The first part of class will be focussed on learning about different types of comic books and how to turn your own idea/story into a comic strip. Then we will talk about exploring the many ways you can set up your panels and how to actually draw out your story. No experience is necessary to take the class and students are welcome to draw as much or as little as they are comfortable during our time together! The focus of this class is to teach valuable comic book drawing skills while building up the confidence in art and trying new things! My goal is to have every young artist that takes this class to come away with new knowledge and excitement so they can go forward in their art journey and create comics on their own :)
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will learn how to come up with a story and how to actually put that story on paper for others to enjoy! We will learn key words like "thumb nailing", "staging", and "storyboarding", which will help us to explore the may ways you can create your comic panels. By the end of class, students will have the knowledge and confidence to draw their own comics at home!

If students wish to draw along, simple art supplies will work just fine! I recommend having: -A pencil or pen -A few pieces of paper -Colors (crayons or colored pencils)
