Want your child to have an excellent base in all things STEM? Each week is an incredible class and exciting opportunities to learn, think, engineer, and invent! Each class is different, covering subjects like physics, engineering, space, NASA, architecture, biology, chemistry, and much more. Each class will begin with a lesson that includes talking, discussions, photos, and/or videos. We will spend about half the class discussing the subject of the week and the last part with a hands-on an experiment, design challenge, or inventing something new! Each child will use their own creativity, their imaginations, and their own engineering design process. Classes will be kept small, 7 children, so that the teacher can interact and help each student with their experiments or designs. These classes are designed for children of all abilities and are inclusive for those with disabilities, including those with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and learning disabilities. Children will not be expected to read or write in class. We will spend a big part of class designing, experimenting, and/or creating our items. Each child will create their own things through their imaginations and their own creative design. Please make sure to have supplies for class so the children can create/experiment! This can all be created with things from around the house! Please check the supply list. These classes are part lesson and part design, create, and/or experiment. Children learn best when they can use their hands and imagination! Join us in this fun class! Please note, a design will not be sent to your student, they will completely design their items using the things we will talk about in class. A PowerPoint is not used, but discussion, photos, videos, and other resources. *** Friday STEM classes may have a few less classes than the others because of holidays *** **Please check back in December for Spring class listings** Week of September 4th: Students will learn about what it takes to be a rover on the moon. Then students will follow the engineering design process to design and build a rover out of various materials! Week of September 11th: In this class we will talk about bridges, their architectural designs, and how to build some that are different and unique. But this is not a typical bridge challenge, we will be designing and constructing a suspension bridge, and then complete a challenge! Week of September 18th: In this class we will talk about what it will take to land on the moon and learn about kinetic and potential energy. Week of September 25th: This week we will talk about Gravity, different types of energy and create our own roller coaster! Week of October 2nd: Children will learn how NASA uses parachutes here on earth and on other planets. We will then create our own parachute! Week of October 9th: No Class Week of October 16th: This class introduces aerodynamics and the forces of flight. Students will apply these concepts to design and construct an airplane, that will not only fly, but also carry weight. Week of October 23rd: This week will be talking safety of helmets and sports. An egg drop, but with a twist! Week of October 30th: This week we will be learning about the Orion Spacecraft! We will be creating and testing a model of the CEV. Week of November 6th: What does it take to design our food packages? How can you keep your food safe? Join us for this delicious class (bring snacks) and let's see! Week of November 13th: This week we will be talking about Mechanical Advantage and then make a cranking device! Week of November 20th: Thanksgiving Holiday (for USA), No Class Week of November 27th: We will explore the International Space Station, then design our own version. Week of December 4th: We will design our own zipline to carry a passenger safely down! Week of December 11th: We will be taking our engineering design process and create our own pinball machine! Classes are subject to change depending on the what the learners want and like!

Licenciatura en Educación desde University of Houston at Clear Lake
I believe in igniting the fire for the love of learning and meeting children where they are at. I also believe the best way to learn is through play, hands on experiments, and having fun. My favorite things to teach are STEM, Math, facilitating safe gaming classes, and reading classes.
I attended University of Houston at Clear Lake and received my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education- Young Children with Disabilities and my Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education- Children with Disabilities. I was the owner and founder of The Mind Body Lab, where I taught STEM, Art, and Yoga classes. I am also a private tutor.
I was the Assistant Director of Early Childhood camps for University of Houston at Clear Lake, and for 6 years I designed, developed, and implemented inclusive camps for young children. I have also taught a homeschool science classes at a local nature center, where I prepared lesson plans, wrote lessons that included STEM, and instructed an inclusive class.
I believe every child learns in a different way and the way I teach will reflect that. I plan my classes in a way where all learners needs are met, we do not all learn the same so I offer multiple ways to understand the subject.
I have homeschooled my children for the last 12 years. I am a first degree black belt and love everything martial arts!
My goal is to educate, include, enlighten, ignite, and help children explore this world.
