Experiencia de clase

Your student will find history come alive as we take a tour through the Star Wars story line, characters and places, and relate it all to real world history.
Have you ever wondered why the clones are called storm troopers? Or why the Jedi look similar to Japanese Samurai? Or how the American Revolution is similar to the rebel cause in Star Wars?

These questions and more will be discussed in this one of a kind introduction class to the Star Wars World History class.

Lecture accompanied by pictures and videos will engage your student in the subject of history. Here is a snapshot of what will be discussed:
1.1 Why Rebels Triumph: Rebellions; American Revolution vs. Star Wars Rebellion
1.2 Part of a Rebel Alliance and a Traitor: Women in War; Joan of Arc vs. Rey
1.3 Elegant Weapons for a Civilized Age: Jedi vs Samurai, Templar, Shaolin Monks
1.4 A House Divided: Civil Wars; American Civil War vs. Star Wars Civil War

Perfil
Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
I am a classroom teacher turned homeschool mom, who turned into a homeschool teacher. I love teaching history to young students. Many times the student can feel disconnected from history and see it as a boring subject. My goal is for the student to say, "That was fun!" when talking about my classes and the subject of history.
This is near and dear to my heart because when I was in school, history was boring. All dates, places and names, and I didn't relate all that information to my life. I like to bridge that gap and help the student understand how history is relatable and fun.
