WELCOME TO THE JEDI COUNCIL! In this weekly ongoing Stars Wars class, we will meet to discuss characters and plots in the Star Wars franchise as we focus on one specific movie or tv series each week. You WILL need to have watched the movies and television shows for the weeks you will be taking your seat on the council. As with any ongoing class, you are free to drop in and out (subscribe/unsubscribe) each week as your interest and time allow. Each week will be a stand-alone discussion that primarily focuses on that week's Star Wars movie or television series, so feel free to jump in and join the group at any point in the 20-week cycle. We will have in-depth discussion as well as trivia, Would You Rather questions, and scavenger hunts. So, Star Wars fans, come take your seat on the Jedi Council! SPOILER ALERT: We will be discussing all aspects of the movies and television shows, so learners will need to have seen them before class to avoid spoilers and to participate in the discussions related to characters and plot.
CONTENT WARNING: This rotation will feature a week dedicated to one of the recent live-action TV series entries in the Star Wars saga: Andor (Week 19 - 2/15). While not a big departure from your typical, modern live-action Star Wars show (i.e. The Mandalorian), Andor does feature some elements and themes that some may consider to be "a level up" in the usual target age-group. These may include things like slightly grittier violence, occasional (but mild) adult language, and a brief moment of romantic innuendo. Because of this, I've chosen to remove Andor from its usual place in the Star Wars Canon timeline, and save it for the second-to-last week of our rotation, where parents can decide if this is a show that's best for their young Padawan to dive into, without having to pause right in the middle of our run!
