Pruebas estandarizadas: preparación para la sección de matemáticas: revisión basada en temas (FLEX)

**This a flexible schedule class; there are no live meetings. Videos and activities will be posted at the beginning of each week. Learners will watch the content and interact with the different activities at their own pace.**

In this 15-week FLEX series, learners will get a crash course in a variety of math skills (covering pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and basic trigonometry topics) that are tested on the ACT, SAT, and other standardized tests. The goal of this course is for learners to refresh previously learned skills by reviewing a comprehensive list of math topics in order to score better on standardized tests, such as the ACT or SAT. Each week I will cover different concepts, definitions, examples, and practice problems to help students master basic math skills that are tested on the math section of the ACT, SAT, or other standardized test. Each week, learners will also complete a practice worksheet and a mini quiz independently to test what they have learned. In addition, I will be available throughout the week to facilitate learner interactions through their posts, comments, and questions.

Week 1: Pre-Algebra Concepts, Part 1 (fractions, decimals, percent)

Week 2: Pre-Algebra Concepts, Part 2 (order of operations and linear equations)

Week 3: Pre-Algebra Concepts, Part 3 (averages, probability, classifying numbers, absolute value, and square roots)

Week 4: Algebra Fundamentals, Part 1 (integers, algebraic expressions, and equations) 

Week 5: Algebra Fundamentals, Part 2 (evaluating formulas, simplifying polynomials, & factoring quadratic equations)

Week 6: Algebra Fundamentals, Part 3 (algebraic fractions)

Week 7: Intermediate Algebra, Part 1 (linear inequalities, advanced exponents, slope-intercept form, parallel, and perpendicular)

Week 8: Intermediate Algebra, Part 2 (systems of equations and multivariable rational expressions)

Week 9: Intermediate Algebra, Part 3 (radicals, imaginary numbers, quadratic formula, and zeros of polynomials)

Week 10: Plane Geometry, Part 1 (segments, rays, angles, parallel and perpendicular lines, and transversals)

Week 11: Plane Geometry, Part 2 (properties of triangles, plane geometric figures, and quadrilaterals)

Week 12: Plane Geometry, Part 3 (properties of circles and area of polygons)

Week 13: Coordinate Geometry, Part 1 (graphing on a number line and coordinate plane, functions, slope, and distance formula)

Week 14: Coordinate Geometry, Part 2 (graphing linear equations with 2 variables, equations of circles, and graphing conic sections)

Week 15: Trigonometry (right angle trigonometry, addition formulas for sine and cosine, and graphs of trigonometric functions)

Throughout each week - multiple learning videos will be post to fully cover the learning content. In every learning video, I will break down each of the above topics and provide examples and extra practice to enhance student learning of the material. Additional practice problems will be provided for learners to additionally practice what they learned in class. These classes are meant to be interactive, where learners will be given opportunities to ask clarification questions on topics as needed. After each section within a class, I will provide the leaners with opportunities to ask questions and post related questions that they may need additional guidance in solving.
