Looking for a Fun Astronomy Camp done Virtually, well this one's Out of this World! With our Spring Break Astronomy Camp, children ages 5-10 can be inspired to think big, dream big, and to foster curiosity about an enormous universe in which the boundaries appear unlimited. The spark of interest often ignites in young minds where the ABC's of the universe are brought to light.

Exciting week-long sessions for children with lots of fun STEM hands-on activities as they are guided into the mysteries of the universe by a real astronomer who was a consultant with NASA and worked with a space telescope. The entire week is filled with constant fun and excitement as everyone experiences a supernova explosion of new knowledge and understanding in this virtual journey throughout the cosmos. With the understanding of some simple terminology and concepts, they are better informed about space and the celestial objects that reside overhead. Some of the many outrageous activities include constructing a starfinder, using Oreo cookies to see the phases of the Moon, and building an actual telescope from a kit provided by the camp.

Topics include:
•	Astronomy for Everyone: Size & Scale of the Universe
•	Roadmap to the Stars: the Night Sky Explained
•	A Grand Tour of the Solar System & Beyond
•	Gazing Upon a Cosmic Ocean
•	Exploring the Moon & Mars and the Deep-Space Search for Another Earth
•	Movers in the Sky: Comets, Meteors & Asteroids
•	When Celestial Bodies Collide: Eclipses & Other Phenomena
•	Telescopes: Eyes on the Universe

Many fun and educational STEM hands-on activities are done throughout the week, ending with the construction of a telescope from a provided kit mailed to your home.

For Parents: A packet listing all activities, materials and supplies needed is provided. Please print out and gather all materials together needed for all the activities BEFORE the camp begins. The price of the telescope kit is 100% included in the price of this course, and there are no other fees or costs to you. The telescope kit includes all the parts needed for assembling a fully functional telescope including a high performance glass crown & flint objective lens, tube, focuser, eyepieces and a Barlow lens. Beyond hand holding the telescope for viewing celestial objects, the tube is threaded for any standard camera tripod for mounting it that you will need to have or obtain. Upon enrollment, a telescope kit will be mailed to your home, so a physical address is needed. You can share this information safely using Google forms, and this personal information will only be used for mailing the telescope kit to your home. It will be promptly deleted once it is used for that purpose.
