In this ongoing class, I'll introduce students to techniques I've used to create atmosphere and suspense in my eerie, award-winning fiction. Each session will start with a discussion of the topic of the week, then we'll move onto a class brainstorming session and a short writing exercise that will involve a spine-chilling setting or situation. Students who wish to read their work aloud for light feedback will have an opportunity to do so, time permitting. They can also send their work to me for light feedback within the week.
