✔️ Week 1- Puking Pumpkins! 🎃 • 2 pumpkins (1 small about 6 inches) & 1 medium (about 9 inches) ***BEFORE CLASS: Have your child draw a face on both and you cut out 2 eyes, a nose, mouth, a lid on top. Scoop out the insides from both pumpkins. Save the top to use a lid & make sure NOT carve out the mouth close to the bottom.*** Alternative: 2 fake pumpkins aka PLASTIC pumpkin buckets & still cut out 2 eyes, a nose & mouth & use a plate that covers the entire top. • 1 tablespoon • 2 medium bowls • baking soda • 2 cups of vinegar in a cup • Liquid dish soap • Food coloring (2 colors) • 1 cup of Hydrogen peroxide (3%) in a cup (make sure the cup still has a little space for when we add more ingredients & ensure it FITS into the SMALL pumpkin with the lid on.) • 1 pack of dry yeast • ¼ cup of VERY WARM water in a cup • ½ cup of VERY WARM water in a different cup • 2 large, deep trays • 1 pair of thin gloves • Optional: assorted small plastic props (spiders, eyeballs, bats, etc) • 1 curious kid =) ✔️ Week 2: Creepy, Spooky, Levitating Puppets! 🦇 • BEFORE CLASS, precut the shape of a bat, a ghost & a zombie using TISSUE PAPER (like what’s used for gifts) Have them ***3 inches*** in height & leave it plain as we will draw on them in class. • BEFORE CLASS, precut a handful of confetti sized pieces using the same tissue paper • BEFORE CLASS, 2 blown up balloons (medium sized) • Precut 3 small pieces of tape • 1 plate or tray • Come to class with your hair open (not tied) • Wear something with cotton or wool • A few markers (any colors) • 1 curious kid =) ✔️ Week 3: Bubbling Boo’n bags 😱 • 2 Ziploc bags: 1 small (sandwich sized) & 1 large (galloon size). For best results, use bags with the zipper aka the slider, but the press & seal type will work too. • 5 cups of vinegar • 1 cup measuring cup • Food coloring (2 colors) • 5 tablespoons of baking soda • 1 tablespoon • 1 permanent marker (black or any dark color) • 1 square of toilet paper • 1 sheet of paper towel • 1 hand towel • 1 pair of goggles or sunglasses • 1 tray • 1 curious kid =) ✔️ Week 4: Howling Ghostly Rockets! 👻 • A jug of WARM water • 3 empty clear, plastic film canisters with caps for BEST RESULTS! I got it here: https://www.amazon.com/AKIRO-Canisters-Storage-Containers-Transparent/dp/B07YZ4WVF3/ref=asc_df_B07YZ4WVF3?tag=bingshoppinga-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=79920843355984&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4583520390969239&psc=1 (Alternative, but would not be as the same results so try to only use film canisters: 3 plastic M&M *mini* candy tubes. Empty the candy, remove the wrapper & separate the cap by cutting it BEFORE CLASS.) • 8 tablets of Alka-Seltzer or Walmart's brand Equate tablets (NOT the gum version). Alternative: Effervescent tablets. (Have the tablets already OUT of the packets) • 1 black permanent marker • 1 small, lightweight plastic toy figurine (such as a Lego person, an animal or anything similar.) • 1 rubber band • 1 empty 16 fl oz narrow mouth plastic bottle with cap (remove wrapper) • A tray or large plate • 1 pair of goggles or sunglasses (note myself) Safety is #1 with me, so let’s put on our goggles or sunglasses • 1 curious kid =) ***Kindly note that if you do not have the supplies, students are still allowed to join the class and merely follow along. That way, they can still learn the process of how to make it and they can also conduct this experiment after class. Additionally, the file is merely a welcome picture. NO file is needed for class.***
Assist your child if needed such as pouring or mixing ingredients.
