Are you ready for some spooky hands-on learning?! Calling all curious learners to join us in conducting multiple spooky experiments in each class. I will spark your learners’ curiosity and get them to be excited about learning the scientific process and chemical reactions in a spooky, but not too spooky ways to explore science!🧪 Learners will explore the world of chemical reactions and use critical thinking skills! They will interact and collaborate ideas with their classmates whilst learning the scientific method which includes how to make observations, form a hypothesis, conduct an experiment, ask questions, draw conclusions and report results. Upon our findings, students will share their findings with one another. So come and let your child fuel their curiosity through a series of hands-on STEM/STEAM investigations. It’s going to be “spook-tecular”! Schedule:- Week 1: Puking Pumpkins 🎃 Week 2- Creepy, Spooky, Levitating Puppets! 🦇 Week 3- Bubbling Boo’n bags 😱 Week 4- Howling Ghostly Rockets! 👻 ***Kindly note that if you do not have the supplies, students are still allowed to join the class and merely follow along. That way, they can still learn the process of how to make it and they can also conduct this experiment after class. Additionally, the file is merely a welcome picture. NO file is needed for class.*** Remember to click the heart on my profile to follow me in order to see new classes.
Metas de aprendizaje

✔️ Week 1- Puking Pumpkins! 🎃 • 2 pumpkins (1 small about 6 inches) & 1 medium (about 9 inches) ***BEFORE CLASS: Have your child draw a face on both and you cut out 2 eyes, a nose, mouth, a lid on top. Scoop out the insides from both pumpkins. Save the top to use a lid & make sure NOT carve out the mouth close to the bottom.*** Alternative: 2 fake pumpkins aka PLASTIC pumpkin buckets & still cut out 2 eyes, a nose & mouth & use a plate that covers the entire top. • 1 tablespoon • 2 medium bowls • baking soda • 2 cups of vinegar in a cup • Liquid dish soap • Food coloring (2 colors) • 1 cup of Hydrogen peroxide (3%) in a cup (make sure the cup still has a little space for when we add more ingredients & ensure it FITS into the SMALL pumpkin with the lid on.) • 1 pack of dry yeast • ¼ cup of VERY WARM water in a cup • ½ cup of VERY WARM water in a different cup • 2 large, deep trays • 1 pair of thin gloves • Optional: assorted small plastic props (spiders, eyeballs, bats, etc) • 1 curious kid =) ✔️ Week 2: Creepy, Spooky, Levitating Puppets! 🦇 • BEFORE CLASS, precut the shape of a bat, a ghost & a zombie using TISSUE PAPER (like what’s used for gifts) Have them ***3 inches*** in height & leave it plain as we will draw on them in class. • BEFORE CLASS, precut a handful of confetti sized pieces using the same tissue paper • BEFORE CLASS, 2 blown up balloons (medium sized) • Precut 3 small pieces of tape • 1 plate or tray • Come to class with your hair open (not tied) • Wear something with cotton or wool • A few markers (any colors) • 1 curious kid =) ✔️ Week 3: Bubbling Boo’n bags 😱 • 2 Ziploc bags: 1 small (sandwich sized) & 1 large (galloon size). For best results, use bags with the zipper aka the slider, but the press & seal type will work too. • 5 cups of vinegar • 1 cup measuring cup • Food coloring (2 colors) • 5 tablespoons of baking soda • 1 tablespoon • 1 permanent marker (black or any dark color) • 1 square of toilet paper • 1 sheet of paper towel • 1 hand towel • 1 pair of goggles or sunglasses • 1 tray • 1 curious kid =) ✔️ Week 4: Howling Ghostly Rockets! 👻 • A jug of WARM water • 3 empty clear, plastic film canisters with caps for BEST RESULTS! I got it here: https://www.amazon.com/AKIRO-Canisters-Storage-Containers-Transparent/dp/B07YZ4WVF3/ref=asc_df_B07YZ4WVF3?tag=bingshoppinga-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=79920843355984&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4583520390969239&psc=1 (Alternative, but would not be as the same results so try to only use film canisters: 3 plastic M&M *mini* candy tubes. Empty the candy, remove the wrapper & separate the cap by cutting it BEFORE CLASS.) • 8 tablets of Alka-Seltzer or Walmart's brand Equate tablets (NOT the gum version). Alternative: Effervescent tablets. (Have the tablets already OUT of the packets) • 1 black permanent marker • 1 small, lightweight plastic toy figurine (such as a Lego person, an animal or anything similar.) • 1 rubber band • 1 empty 16 fl oz narrow mouth plastic bottle with cap (remove wrapper) • A tray or large plate • 1 pair of goggles or sunglasses (note myself) Safety is #1 with me, so let’s put on our goggles or sunglasses • 1 curious kid =) ***Kindly note that if you do not have the supplies, students are still allowed to join the class and merely follow along. That way, they can still learn the process of how to make it and they can also conduct this experiment after class. Additionally, the file is merely a welcome picture. NO file is needed for class.***

👋 Hello! I'm Teacher Saara. I've been featured as an EPIC and ACE educator! I have a passion for teaching and I am very excited to teach your learner! I love to cook, swim, travel and conduct experiments! I’m originally from an island in the Caribbean called Trinidad. However, I grew up on Long Island, New York and I now reside in South Florida.
🎓 I have a Master's degree in Literacy from Long Island University, a Bachelor’s degree in General and Special Education from St. Joseph’s College as well as certifications in both TESOL and TEFL. I have been teaching for over 12 years in public and private schools. I've also been recognized as an EPIC Educator by Outschool providing instruction and creating class experiences that are Empowering, Passion-driven, Intentional, and Connected. Now that's EPIC!
👩🏫 Currently, I’ve been teaching online for over six years and I have experience teaching well over 15,000 online classes to students and I absolutely love the atmosphere of an online classroom! I have also spent three years in the tropical Caribbean teaching English to children from all parts of the world. I have taught ages three to 18 years old in subject areas such as ESL, reading, conversing skills, phonics, writing, cooking, grammar, math, science, social studies, fingerplay/songs, role playing and much more!
🏆 My goal is to ensure your child feels comfortable, is respected, builds their confidence, sees their potential as they master content in a positive learning environment and promote intellectual diversity. I firmly believe your learner will leave my classroom with the tools they need to succeed.
🎉 My philosophy is a child’s mind is like a blank canvas. It’s up to us educators, parents and everyone involved in a child's life to fill the canvas with meaningful illustrations. My interactive classes will contribute to this. My classes are extremely entertaining with humor, using many 3D props as well as digital props as it makes class more engaging.
🌹 Remember, teachers who love teaching, teach children to love learning. Thank you and I look forward to meeting your learner!
