This class is an assessment of spelling and reading skills. No additional assessments or assignments will be given. I will use a succession of increasingly challenging spelling lists that include short vowels, digraphs, long vowels, diphthongs, affixes, followed by a series of successive grade-level sight word lists and leveled reading passages with corresponding comprehension questions to determine your child's instructional reading level.Experiencia de clase
Are you wondering if your child is reading and spelling at, above, or below grade level? Let me help answer your questions! Using a succession of spelling lists, grade-level sight word lists, and leveled reading passages with corresponding comprehension questions, I can see where your child's instructional reading level is. This level will be provided to you in terms of Lexile, grade level, age, DRA, and Fountas & Pinnell levels so you can make the best decisions for your child's reading instruction.

We will be using the Whiteboard for the spelling portion of the assessment, but if our child would prefer, a dry erase board or even pencil and paper would also work.
