  • Students will apply the techniques and practice them every day. They will be timed on their starting reading speed in the first session and their reading speed in the last session. Students will increase their reading speed 20% and have heightened awareness of their comprehension at different speeds.
I have now taught over 1300 students on Outschool how to speed read, and seen some students dramatically increase their speed from below average to above average.

Detalles: 1. 10 minutes a day of speed reading skills homework during the 5-session class, and then 10 minutes a day for 30 days total. 2. Each class session requires the student to post their experience in response to my questions, as well as post at the beginning of each class what their comprehension was based on comprehension awareness I teach in Class 1.

Detalles: Students should calculate their reading speed every day and post their speed and their comprehension during the timed readings so I can give feedback and they can see their progress. (I teach them how to calculate their reading speed.)
It is common that students with ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning needs have found this class helpful. Results are not guaranteed. Students need to learn the techniques and practice them for a minimum of 20 days, and often longer. 
A student should be able to read at least 50 wpm before entering this class. 
The student must bring a paperback book to class. Absolutely no e-readers. Please have the student use a paperback book that lays flat. The book should be an enjoyable chapter book with little to know pictures/diagrams. Ideally, they will not have read this book before and it is not required for class. NO E-READERS/KINDLES! 
Please make sure they are not moving their lips as they read. The students should have good posture to be able to apply the reading techniques. This class and the homework should not be done at night when the student is in bed. They need to be alert and sitting with good posture on a sofa or at a table.
