Inmersión en español para estudiantes bilingües: La belleza y la diversión del invierno

This class will teach vocabulary related to Winter in an interactive manner. Concepts are reinforced through repetition and presented in different ways: through stories, conversation, crafts and writing activities. The level of the course is intermediate.  
We will read the story: "Martín y la primera nevada" by Sebastian Meschenmoser.

Topics by week:
1- Introduction to the vocabulary through storytelling and games. 
2- Animals that hibernate. Creating an interactive infographic.
3- Groundhog day.
4- Wilson A. Bentley and Snow Flakes. Making a snowflake with paper and glitter.

The sessions will be conducted entirely in Spanish. Students will engage in partner activities and class discussions and will achieve deep understand  with hands on activities and a student centered role. The way this class is designed allows for a full immersion experience from the very beginning. By focusing on a select group of  words and phrases at a time and providing very detailed explanations, learners are able to communicate completely in Spanish from day 1.
