 Week 1
Lesson 1
CLASS 1 & 2: NOUNS, ARTICLES, ADJECTIVES, AND PRONOUNS
For the first class, learners will learn more about the use of nouns and articles in Spanish. Other topics that will be discussed in the second meeting will include the use of possessive adjectives, possessive pronouns, relative pronouns, and demonstrative adjectives and pronouns. Learners will read a short story in the class called "Mi viaje". For the second class, Learners will learn the use of the neuter lo + adjective used as a noun, adjectives, and pronouns used as nouns. There will be an in-class activity where learners will have an opportunity to improve their pronunciation. Learners will read a story in the class called 'Lo Fatal'.
 Week 2
Lesson 2

Lesson 3
CLASS 3 & 4: THE PRESENT PERFECT TENSE
Learners will continue to develop their knowledge of how the past participle and the present perfect tense are formed and its uses. Other topics that will be discussed include the placement of object pronouns with the present perfect tense and the use of the infinite haber and the past participle. The short story that will be read will be 'El apartamento' which will be recorded and sent to the instructor.
 Week 4

CLASS 3 & 4: THE PRESENT PERFECT TENSE
Learners will continue to develop their knowledge of how the past participle and the present perfect tense are formed and its uses. CLASS 7 & 8: THE FUTURE TENSE
Learners will learn about the formation of the future tense and its uses. Other topics that will be discussed include the future progressive and perfect tense. Learners will read a short story in class called 'El porvenir'.
 Week 9
Lesson 9
CLASS 9 & 10: THE CONDITIONAL TENSE
Learners will learn about how the conditional tense is formed and used. In addition, learners will develop their knowledge of the conditional progressive and perfect tense. The short story that will be read in class is 'Que haría usted en las siguientes situaciones?'
 Week 10
Lesson 10
CLASS 9 & 10: THE CONDITIONAL TENSE
Learners will learn about how the conditional tense is formed and used. In addition, learners will develop their knowledge of the conditional progressive and perfect tense. The short story that will be read in class is 'Que haría usted en las siguientes situaciones?'
 Week 11
Lesson 11
CLASS 11: THE PRESENT PERFECT SUBJUNCTIVE
Learners will develop their knowledge about how the present perfect subjunctive is formed and when it is used. The short story read in class will be 'La isla en el Caribe'.
 Week 12
Lesson 12
CLASS 12: THE IMPERFECT SUBJUNCTIVE
Learners will be introduced to how the imperfect subjunctive is formed and used. There will be two stories read in class that include 'El barco económico' and 'Xofhicalco'.
 Week 13
Lesson 13
CLASS 13: THE PAST PERFECT SUBJUNCTIVE
Learners will learn about how the past perfect subjunctive is formed and its uses. There will be a short story read in class called 'Su punto de vista'.
 Week 14
Lesson 14
CLASS 14: THE IDIOMS
Learners will be introduced to different idioms with propositions and verbs along with time expressions. The short story read in class will be 'La defensa de Sócrates'.
 Week 15
Lesson 15
CLASS 15: REVIEW
Learners will be reviewing all the concepts learned including material taught from the Advanced (Part 1 & 2).
 Week 16
Lesson 16
FINAL PROJECTS
There will be a final project that students that will incorporate the concepts learned from this course that will be discussed in class 12.
  • Learners will continue to build their skills in reading, writing, grammar, and comprehension skills in Spanish through a series of in-class exercises, assignments, activities, and projects in the Spanish language.

Detalles: There will be homework assignments assigned weekly that will help learners apply the concepts learned in the form of exercises. There will also be recording assignments that will provide learners with additional opportunities to practice with the instructor outside of class.
