This Waldorf-inspired Spanish immersion class is designed especially for young children. Students are gently introduced to Spanish through developmentally appropriate, joyful activities such as storytelling, singing, movement, finger plays, and watercolor painting. In a 90% Spanish-speaking environment, your child will hear and absorb the language naturally—just as they learned their first language. Each week focuses on a different theme such as greetings, feelings, body parts, animals, colors, and numbers. The vocabulary is brought to life through rhythm, repetition, and visual storytelling, all presented with warmth and care. Our Spanish teacher is Waldorf-trained and uses an imaginative, artistic approach that honors the pace and curiosity of early childhood. Each class includes a hands-on art activity related to the weekly theme, giving children another way to engage with Spanish vocabulary through meaningful context and gentle instruction. THEME CYCLE ⇢ Week of April 21: Saludos y emociones (Greetings and Feelings) Children will learn to greet others and express how they’re feeling using Spanish phrases, songs, and movement games. ⇢ Week of April 28: Colores del arco iris (Colors of the Rainbow) Learners explore the colors through songs, art, and playful games as they create a vibrant rainbow during art time. ⇢ Week of May 5: Mi cuerpo y el movimiento (My Body and Movement) Through verse and movement, children learn the parts of the body in Spanish and practice them with dance and finger plays. ⇢ Week of May 12: Animales de la granja (Farm Animals) Children are introduced to animals through story time, animal sound songs, and a farm-themed art activity.
