DESCRIPTION

This is an intermediate level class for students who want to practice and improve their Spanish while learning about current events, history, art, technology, geography and cultural events.

Ideally, students would have at least three years of Spanish and an interest in reading about current events that are taking place in different places and cultures. 
Students in immersion, dual or bilingual programs will greatly benefit from the class and keep their language skills fresh.

Each week we'll read a published article from the news that has been adapted for intermediate level learners. Each reading will be mapped with important expressions, grammar structures and vocabulary that we'll focus on. 

After the reading, we'll practice the highlighted content by answering questions related to the reading and using the learned vocabulary in sentences while discussing each topic.

At the end of each lesson, we'll do a variety of exercises and play games to reinforce learning. In teams, we'll play hangman, memory, click match, gap-fill and jumble to help retention and promote interaction between all learners.
