Experiencia de clase

This course is the second semester of Spanish 1. It requires a successful completion of my Spanish 1 first semester course or the equivalent. I have included below what each unit in my curriculum includes. This second semester course will begin in unit 7 and go through unit 11.

This class will be educational and fun! I love language and I love to help make the learning of it attainable and enjoyable! We will combine many different facets of learning including: reading, discussion, lecture and activities. Students will be encouraged to fully participate in class and do the homework assigned.

Upon successful completion of this second semester of Spanish 1 a student will have met the language requirements to continue on into Spanish 2. Each unit covers specific grammar and each will build on the other continually increasing the student's ability with the language. Each unit also includes vocabulary for the student to learn and use throughout the unit both in class conversation as well as written work. Students will be assessed throughout the course. In addition We will implement an interactive learning platform in order to allow students to be actively involved in each lesson and to encourage participation and use of the target language. (This will require students to use Nearpod via the app or a web browser during class.)

I am an experienced language teacher with over 15 years of experience teaching Spanish as well as 5 years experience teaching English as a second language in the virtual classroom. I have been teaching my own personal Spanish curriculum on Outschool. Prior to virtual teaching I taught high school and middle school Spanish in the classroom. I studied the Spanish language in the U.S.A at Temple University and in Spain at Universidad Complutense in Madrid. I have spent multiple summers in Spanish-speaking countries teaching English and continuing to study Spanish. I love the language and I always enjoy helping students love it too!
