Come join me and bring your favorite items to share with me and your classmates! In this class, we will learn conversational skills such as how to introduce ourselves, greet each other, ask questions, take turns, share our ideas and participate in basic public speaking through Show and Tell. In this class, we will build a sense of community as we get to know each other and build relationships with classmates. Each week there will be a new topic to guide students on what type of object to bring for show and tell. These topics will be listed here as well as posted in the classroom before class. Students are encouraged to try their best to find an object that fits the weekly topic, however, if they are unable to find something that fits the theme then please do not worry. That is okay!
I am a certified teacher with over 8 years of experience in the classroom. I will use my prepared materials and skills to guide and encourage conversation, while also allowing the learners to lead and direct conversations as appropriate. This class will help your child learn important English conversational skills and build their confidence when speaking with a group of peers. I aim to make every learner feel comfortable and safe to share their ideas. My goal is to ensure each learner feels excited to come to this class and knows that they are an important member of our group!
Depending on how many students are enrolled, we may have extra time after our show and tell. If this is the case, I will extend the conversation by asking questions about the weekly theme or other topics of interest, we will sing songs and/or play a game.
Show and Tell Topics:
Week of 09/5/22: Something red
Week of 09/12/22: Something that moves
Week of 09/19/22: Something soft
Week of 09/26/22: Something small
Dates and topics will be updated at the beginning of each month.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Hello everyone! My name is Danielle. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child and Youth Development as well as a Bachelor of Education degree. I am a certified teacher qualified to teach Kindergarten-Grade 6. I also have additional specialized qualifications in Reading and Primary Education and have taken numerous professional development courses focusing on literacy and mathematics. I also have my TESOL certification for teaching English. I consider myself to be a continuous and lifelong learner and am committed to embracing the challenge of professional growth in order to provide your child with the best possible learning experiences.
Over the past 8 years, I have been a classroom teacher and have taught many grades. I currently teach Literacy, Math, and Science to Junior and Senior Kindergarten students. I knew that I wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember and it is truly my passion. I strive to create innovative classes that keep my students engaged while learning at the same time. For the past 3 years, I have also been teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to students through an online platform. I have taught thousands of ESL classes in person and online. I have taught English to students from all over the world including China, Peru, Mongolia, South Korea, Malaysia, Brazil, and Japan. It can be difficult for young children to learn through a computer screen, however, this experience has strengthened my ability to be an engaging teacher even while teaching virtually. I keep my students engaged by utilizing technology, incorporating movement when possible, making the content relatable, and learning through hands-on experiences.
I am a mother to a 3.5-year-old boy and an almost 1-year-old girl. As a parent, I know how important it is to feel informed when it comes to your child’s education. For this reason, I make open communication with parents and guardians a priority. Please feel comfortable contacting me, through the Outschool platform, if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s learning experience in my classes. I am passionate about embracing my students’ eagerness to learn and to enhance their growth as individuals. I encourage and welcome all learners in my classroom and would love to teach, have fun and learn with your child!
