This weekly group will meet to work on social skills. This course has included topics such as reading social cues, greeting, initiating/maintaining conversations, making friends, and more. Class time will include direct instruction of social skills, interactive opportunities, guided practice, and more independent practice through breakout rooms. Extensive research on the effects of social skills training on children with these challenges shows that social skills instructional programs are effective in reducing a child's experience of school failure or rejection as well as the aggressiveness and isolation that often develop because of problems relating to others. Breakout rooms will be implemented so students can practice having conversations and make friends. Please note that this is a group/class and is NOT therapy. #superstar

-expected versus unexpected behaviors in various situations
