We will start with a "check-in" with a visual representation. I will ask them how they are feeling in the class. I will ask them to identify with a rainy, cloudy, thunder, or sunny day. After that, we will talk about how there are several different types of emotions. I will show pictures that match a certain emotion and we will match them as a class. In this class, I will teach several techniques for regulating emotions. Some techniques will be breathing techniques. We will use our favorite stuffed animals to help regulate anger and sadness.

Hello! I am Mrs. Holstine and I teach early childhood classes.
I teach Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies for Elementary aged students. I have taught in a formal classroom for the last five years. Two of those years were spent with first graders and the rest were spent with kindergarten kids.
I believe that kids learn best when they are interested in the subject matter. I like to get to know the students personally before jumping into a lesson. I like to relate the lesson back to their personal lives to keep the student engaged.
