If your child loves music they will love this class. It will be a fun hands-on interactive class. We will learn some basics in music. This class will be all about how to keep a beat? What is a beat? And then keeping a beat in every way we can……We will clap, tap, march, tap…..play instruments…..move ALL awhile keeping a beat! This is NOT a live class….But I use a very interactive video where I will guide your child through using the at least 20 min. video and the best part ……you can watch the video as many times as you want! No previous music experience is needed. My teaching style is filled with enthusiasm, kindness and I am very upbeat and engaging. The class format will look like this each week A video of myself singing and teaching what is a beat? …..and how to keep a beat? …..and then keeping a beat together… It will be hands on with instruments and moving and singing and the video will have me singing the songs….. encouraging your child to engage with me. I am very animated and energized so your child will be interactive and participating and I’m just sure your child will LOVE it!!! Hello prospective parents and guardians! My name is Mrs. Carol. I live in Canada.
I have my B.A. in music specifically Vocal, as well as ORFF (rhythmic based method of teaching music) training. I have been teaching music for 25+ years. I have created and taught an early years music program in Montessori schools. I have taught voice, piano, early childhood music in my own studio, as well as teaching for several summers at a symphony music camp teaching the ORFF method.
Studies have shown that engaging in music classes from a young age can make you smarter in reading and math! Early years music classes can set you up to learn an instrument, but even more than that it can set you up for a life long love and appreciation for music.
Through singing, simple instruments (don’t worry, your kitchen cupboard has all you need for class) and movement, your child will learn skills such as listening, focusing, taking turns and all the while having a whole lot of “hands-on” fun making music.
My classes will be engaging, inclusive and will aim to ignite the JOY of music-making. I will be using the curriculum Smarty Pants Music that I created after teaching young children for many years.
My husband, who is also musical, and I have been married for 34 years. We have a daughter and son-in-law and I am a proud “Mammie” to 2 exceptional, beautiful grandchildren, Amos and Anna.
I hope to see your child in my classes so that we can Ignite Joy, Get Smarter and Make Music together!
