Practice can make perfect when it comes to the Reading sections of the SAT and ACT. Join us in this Level 2 weekly ongoing class as we get lots of guided practice with all of the different types of questions and reading passages you may find on the SAT or ACT.

In this Level 2 class, we will learn about one type of SAT/ACT Reading question at a time, practicing with SAT/ACT-level questions during the class and learning WHY each question's answer is what it is.

Typical Class Format:
 - Introduction to the week's question type
 - Samples of how the questions may be phrased so students can pick them out
 - Strategies to best answer/find the answer for this question type
 - Practice SAT/ACT passages and questions alternating with detailed explanations of why each answer is correct or incorrect
 - Bonus Practice sheet for students to use after class to further practice their skills

NOTE: This class differs from the Level 1 class by the number of SAT/ACT questions. Level 1 introduces the topics gradually with "fun" lower-level passages to start with until learners know the skills well, then moves into the SAT/ACT questions. Level 2, however, does a quick recap on the question types and strategies before going into all SAT/ACT questions.

We also provide an optional growth log, where students can record the day they took the practice test, their score, write the questions they missed and why they missed it, and keep adding to it each week to track their own improvement.

Teaching--especially in English, writing, and language arts--is a true passion of mine. I graduated Cum Laude from Kansas State University in 2010 with a Secondary Education degree in English and Journalism, and then went on to teach in the public schools before setting off on my own as an online teacher and tutor.

My philosophy of education is to make it as fun, personalized, and as interactive as possible for the kids. I always try to even out my direct instruction/lecture time with plenty of opportunities for students to practice these new skills, take polls, play review games, and collaborate with peers.

I am happily married to my husband Brad, and we have two beautiful daughters, Sophia and Elise. We currently reside in Kansas in a small town, and we love the small town life.

Oh, and Zerr is pronounced "Zarr," so it rhymes with "car." 😉
