In this small group clarinet class, learners aged 8-12 will learn the basics of clarinet playing over the course of ten weeks. Under the guidance of Miss Suzanne, a licensed music teacher specializing in woodwind instruction. Miss Suzanne has over a decade of teaching experience; this course offers a comprehensive and structured introduction to playing the clarinet. - Learners will develop a consistent embouchure and rounded clarinet tone with correct articulation.
- Learners will be able to clean and care for their clarinet, extending the instrument's life.
- Learners will be able to read a clarinet fingering chart and demonstrate the correct fingering on their clarinet.
- Learners will be able to read notes on the treble clef staff.
- Learners will be able to count and perform rhythms in simple meters.
- Students will be able to identify major key signatures and time signatures.
I am licensed music teacher with over a decade of experience in public schools and as a private teacher. I specialize in teaching woodwind players and have experience teaching in group ensemble settings such as elementary bands and high school clarinet sectionals.

Frecuencia: incluidoDetalles: Learners are not formally assessed but their progress is monitored through their participation, performance and improvement over time. Parents can expect to receive two formal progress reports on their child's progress during week 5 and week 9.
To fully participate in this course, students will need access to the following materials: -Quality student clarinet (please message me for guidance on obtaining an instrument!) -Standard of Excellence Book 1 - Clarinet by Bruce Pearson -Interior Cleaning Swab (cotton or silk) -Cork Grease -Size 2.5 Reeds for B-Flat Clarinet (Rico or Vandoren brand preferably) -Clarinet Mouthpiece Cushion (optional)
