This course is designed for  6th graders to get extra help and excel in Math.  
The goal of the class is to keep 6th graders ahead of the curve and not fall behind in this subject.  The class will meet twice a week and each class will be 30 minutes.  It will continue for the whole school year.  All students will be active participants and will be asked to answer questions to make sure they are following along.  Feedback and concerns will be addressed to parents so that this class can achieve the desired results.  
Unit 1: Understand and represent ratios. Learn how to write ratios in three different ways, how to simplify ratios, etc…
In Unit 2, Unit Rates and Percents. Understanding how to find unit rates and completing word problems on unit rates. Learn how to change fractions to decimals to percents and vice versa.
In Unit 3, Multi-Digit and Fraction Computation. How do we add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions?
Unit 4: Rational Numbers. How do we identify rational and irrational numbers?
Unit 5: Numerical and Algebraic Expressions. What are variables, coefficients and constants? How do we combine like terms?
Unit 6: Equations and Inequalities. How to we solve equations and inequalities? How do we write and graph inequalities?
