Hello there, Thank you for considering this class and reading up to this point!!! This class would start by introducing the basic concepts of lending/borrowing and how loans work in the real world. The concept of interest will be introduced through real-life analogies. Two ways of calculating interest: 1. Simple Interest and 2. Compound Interest will be discussed next. Next, we will discuss why simple interest is so simple and what compound interest offer that simple interest doesn't. Why the word "Compound" is used for describing compound interest? This will lead to the introduction of the "Compounding Effect" and "Exponential Growth". In between the concept discussion, we will work on a few practice questions. Homework will be given after each class and students are encouraged to submit it. If a student has any questions, they are welcome to use OS messaging system to reach out to me for help before the next class takes place. Tentative Agenda: Class 1: -> Introduction to the concept of Loan / Lending / Borrowing -> Introduction to the concept of Interest -> Introduction to the concept of Simple Interest Class 2: -> Complete the explanation of Simple Interest -> Practice Questions on Simple Interest Class 3: -> Introduction to the concept of Compound Interest -> Practice Questions on Compound Interest Class 4: -> Effect of compounding -> Group Discussion about Compounding Process
