In this class, students will learn the difference between fact and opinion, then use their new knowledge to write an opinion sentence following a read aloud of Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willems. Students will write about whether or not they think the pigeon should be allowed to drive the bus and give a reason as to why this is their opinion. After the designated independent work time, students will have the opportunity to share their writing with their peers. We will compare answers to see which opinion had the most votes.
