This class will explore the short story Lamb to the Slaughter and each student will need to read the short story prior to class. Students will engage in a discussion pertaining to what they read. Comprehension questions will be presented along with additional questions where students will be required to identify the conflict in the story, describe the characters, and identify themes.

This class will solely focus on one story, which will allow students to focus their attention on a particular text and thoroughly understand the moral and the main idea.

In addition, students will be asked to define vocabulary words.
Through facilitation teaching style, I will be providing guidance and ensure that students are understanding the text being presented to them.

This will be a very interactive class where students will get to share their thoughts and ideas about the story, and make personal reflections based on what they read.

I have fourteen+ years of experience teaching Language to students of all ages. I have graduated with a 4.0 and hold a Master of Education degree, HBASc (Criminology) degree, Social Service Worker diploma, and Law Clerk diploma.

Throughout my career as an English tutor, I have helped students with their English courses. I am fluent in the English language and I am very familiar with the requirements that students must achieve in order to be successful in their writing courses. For example, I have helped students structure essays from beginning to end and taught how to properly structure sentences, how to integrate valuable supporting details, how to properly source, include in-text citations, analyze academic journals, and how to paraphrase information that is relevant to the topic at hand.

Reading is a skill that requires attention to detail and it requires students to pay close attention to words. As an English tutor, I teach students how to read slowly and how to define terms in the content presented. I encourage students to engage in discussions based on the story and I also aid students who have difficulties in making connections. Reading allows students to imagine the text in their own way and each student will have a different image in their head pertaining to the way the characters look, the way the setting appears, and the way the author presents information.

Throughout my career, I have worked with students as young as six years old to students who are in their fourth year of university. I am an educator who pays close attention to detail and I teach students how to elaborate their thoughts. Many times, students can get very discouraged because they can only come up with one or two thoughts about a certain topic. I do not let that discourage my students; instead, I help them expand their ideas by posing additional questions which allows them to delve deeper into their topic.

My education is a combination of various academic disciplines which allows me to provide students with plenty examples and samples of how to properly write. I strongly believe that my expertise will inspire and help students develop their potentials in becoming amazing writers.
