What will be taught?
Students will learn how physical environments in the Western Hemisphere shape human activities and how humans modify their surroundings to meet their needs.

What topics will you cover?

How geography influences human settlements
Adaptations to different physical environments (e.g., Arctic, rainforests, rivers)
Human modifications to the environment (e.g., canals, highways, deforestation)
The consequences—both intended and unintended—of environmental modifications
How is your class structured?
The class includes engaging video instruction, guided notes, structured discussions, an interactive activity where students design their own settlement, and an Evidence of Mastery project in the form of an environmental comic strip.

How will you teach?
The lesson will be delivered through a combination of storytelling, real-world examples, engaging visuals, structured discussions, and hands-on activities. Students will actively explore concepts rather than passively receiving information.
