In this one-time class, learners will be introduced to basic geometry concepts, including (1) the names of polygon groups and (2) the definitions and fundamental applications of perimeter, area, and volume. Learners will gain foundational skills in these introductory topics that are often seen in geometry. This course will allow learners to dip their toe into the world of geometry in a fun and engaging way. There will be many opportunities in class for learners to participate and apply the concepts they are learning. Learners are encouraged to ask questions and provide their own examples throughout the class to reinforce the topics discussed.

Hello! My name is Ms. Sarah! I am very excited to meet you! I recently finished 8 years of college and graduated with my Doctorate degree in Audiology (diagnosing and treating hearing and balance disorders) in May 2020! I have been a teacher in many ways over the last 13 years. I am a 5th degree black belt in taekwondo and have been teaching taekwondo to students ages 4-18 over the last 14 years. I have also been a math tutor for more than 11 years, teaching students math concepts ranging from basic mathematics learned in K5 through high school algebra II, both face-to-face and virtually. Other math prep courses I have taught include several ACT standardized testing math prep courses. In the last couple of years I have added teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) virtually to international students ages 4-15. I have a strong passion for teaching, and I love helping students succeed and become more confident and independent. I enjoy taekwondo, traveling, reading, fishing, and spending time with my family.
