Bias and various fabrics.Week 4Lesson 4Reading a Pattern / PincushionThis lesson will cover the basics of reading a pattern. How to layout your fabric. Using a pattern to create your pincushion.Week 5Lesson 5Tote/ PencilcaseSewing basics: Casing for elastic or drawstring. Sewing a zipper. Choosing your tote/ pencilcase pattern.Week 6Lesson 6Hand Sewing / ApronMaking an apron using the sewing machine and handstitches. - Presentation-

Your child will be working with a professional Costume Technician who has over thirty years experience in Fashion, Film, Theatre, Opera and Dance. Susan will guide your child to produce something one of a kind and fantastic! The instructor has been creating her entire life. She started at a very young age, taught by her mother who produced garments for private clients. She has a passion for sewing and creating. The instructor holds a Bachelor of Science in Textiles and Design and a Master of Fine Arts in Costume Technology. She has over eight years experience of teaching online and over ten years of teaching in various levels in the classroom and university. “There is nothing more beautiful than to have an image in your mind and make it a reality!”

The student should own a sewing machine. And check over "Material List" before our first one-on-one meeting.

Assistance may be required to access videos, attain and print out handouts, share photos etc. Each learner in the class will be using sharp objects, such as needles and scissors. Proper safety guidance and techniques will be shared by the educator.
