What will be taught? This class will teach students about the trans-Saharan slave trade, focusing on how it shaped societies in West and Central Africa, as well as North African cultures. The lesson will also explore the differences between the trans-Saharan and trans-Atlantic slave trades. What topics will you cover? The origin and mechanics of the trans-Saharan slave trade. Comparison between the trans-Saharan and trans-Atlantic slave trades. The political, economic, and cultural impacts of the trans-Saharan slave trade on African societies and North African cultures. How the trans-Saharan slave trade laid the groundwork for the trans-Atlantic slave trade. How is your class structured? The class is structured with a blend of video instruction, guided notes, interactive activities, discussion questions, a short reflection assignment, and a creative summative assessment. The lesson is divided into clearly defined sections to ensure thorough comprehension. How will you teach? The class will be taught through engaging and informative video presentations, guided notes, creative activities, and open-ended discussion questions. Students will also complete a reflection activity and a creative writing assessment to demonstrate their mastery of the topic. What's your teaching style?
