1 hora por semana. During each prerecorded video, I will pause at 3 different times, to ask students a thought provoking question, and give them a few minutes to write down their answer on their own. After viewing the video, the student will be asked to choose one of their questions and answers to submit via written response or recorded video which will be due weekly, every Thursday. I will interact with the students by responding to their answers in the identical manner in which it was submitted ( written or recorded video). Additionally, every Sunday I will post a Thought of the Week to the Outschool Classroom, which will be a prompt for student discussion and engagement

In this 4 week Self Paced Course, we will explore global leaders who promoted peace on both a local and national level, and look at how they were able to make an impact through the use of peaceful resolutions. Each week this course will explore a champion of peace, their historical and global impact, and learn how they promoted peace. We will first look at each individual and provide historical and social context in which they lived. We will then compare similarities and differences on their tactics to promote peace and how their impact was made both on the local and global level. Discussions will be age appropriate ,thought provoking and engaging. Students will discuss each peace champion weekly, and what they found most interesting or conflicting about the individual. Every week students will post a comment, question or video, in response to the content learned. Students will be challenged to think critically.

Instruction will use a combination of pre recorded videos, screen shared Powerpoint presentations and discussion questions. There will be one pre recorded video posted weekly by 2PM EST every Sunday. Each video will be approximately 45 minutes long. During the pre recorded video, the teacher will be screensharing a Powerpoint presentation. Students do not need Powerpoint in order to view or participate. Students are encouraged to take notes during the video. For each individual studies, we will go over the following:
Origins and Life History
What issue(s) were the individuals passionate about?
What Challenges and obstacles did the individual face?
Local Impact vs Global Impact
The most interesting or surprising fact you learned about this person
How did this person contribute to a peaceful world
