This is an asychronous class so there are no live meetings and all interaction will take place in the Outschool classroom. Every week, a video lesson will be posted in the Outschool classroom. Students will pause the video several times to go take some photos. Students can share their photos by posting them in the Outschool classroom. This four-week self-paced course was created by combining four of my previous one-time classes. WEEK 1: Sit, stay, click The first class will begin with an introduction to the different types of images we can create with pet photography. Students will learn 4 key components to taking great photographs of pets - environment, lighting, attention & patience. WEEK 2: Pets & people together The second class begins with an introduction to pet and people photography with a brief image review. Students will learn 4 key components to taking great photographs of pets and people - location, communication, group composition & flexibility. WEEK 3: Themes & costumes The third class begins with an introduction to pet photography themes and accessories. Students will learn 4 key components to taking great photographs of pets with a theme - planning, timing, placement, and distraction. WEEK 4: Pets in motion The final class begins with an introduction to capturing sharper pet photos no matter how the pet is moving. Students will learn 4 key components to taking great photographs of pets - lighting, focus, angle & camera/phone settings.

Beginner photography students will learn how to photograph a pet without frustration, using a combination of good planning and patience to create beautiful candid pet photographs that show their pets' personalities.
