Join us for a Halloween circle time! Like all Seasons of Joy Circle Times, we will by reciting a gathering poem, lighting a candle, and singing a hello song. Likewise, we will end with an end-of-circle time song. In between, we will spend time singing, moving and acting out songs and stories about pumpkins, bats, witches, and maybe even a hobgoblin. And who knows? We might be lucky enough to see a fairy! Class will be fully immersive and interactive, with very little technology outside of the Zoom platform itself. Unlike our usual half-hour circle times, we will include a craft. Please see the list of class materials so your child can make their very own fairy-scope, which will go along nicely with our fairy story. Children are welcome to attend class in costume. Please make sure costumes are not frightening, do not obscure their faces (so no masks), and are not commercial characters. Appropriate costumes would be fairies, gnomes, *cute* monsters or creatures from mythology, witches and wizards that are not scary, animals, fairy tale or story characters, etc. If you have any questions, please ask!

Orientación para padres
This class would not be suitable for families that do not celebrate Halloween.
As always, please make sure your child has adequate space and appropriate footwear for movement activities.
The craft project involves glue or a rubber band, and parental assistance may be needed.
Lista de útiles escolares
To make our fairy-scopes, your child will need * a paper towel or toilet paper tube as the base * either a circle of tissue paper (any light color) to cover the end OR stretched out wool roving that is still all in one piece to cover the end. The idea is to obscure but not completely cover the end of the scope so your child can still see through it (and hopefully spot a fairy!) * glue or a glue stick and/or a rubber band to hold the tissue paper or wool roving to the end of the scope * crayons to decorate the scope
Recursos externos
